English: The Bluebird Bus and Coach company based in Middleton, Greater Manchester (trading simply as 'Bluebird') painted two of its service buses in contemporary versions of the liveries of bus operators that used to operate in the north west. Both are of the small 29 seat Mini Pointer Dart type, one from the TransBus era, the other from the later Alexander Dennis era, namely:
  • No. 2 (reg. OO05 BLU), a 2005 Alexander Dennis MPD, painted in the orange and white colours of the former SELNEC (South East Lancashire North East Cheshire) PTE, created in 1969 and then rebranded as GMPTE (Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive) in 1974
  • No. 25 (reg. MG53 BLU), a 2003 TransBus MPD, painted in the red and cream of the North Western Road Car Company, which was formed in 1923 and then split into various parts in 1974
The SELNEC scheme was completed with the green S and 'Southern' logo on the side, denoting the bus as one from the PTE's Southern Division. The SELNEC scheme also inorporated the Bluebird fleetname on the front of the bus. The North Western scheme was finished with North Western fleetnames on both the front and sides, without any Bluebird fleetnames.
