Constructed in 1913 for John Sidney Webb, the building was designed by Appleton P. Clark Jr., and is a contributing property to the Dupont Circle Historic District. It served as the Embassy of the Philippines from 1946 to 1993 (the new embassy is located across the street), but is still owned by the Filipino government.
