English: The buildings located at 1639 and 1641 R Street NW (northeast corner of 17th and R) in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C., were designed by B. Stanley Simmons. The buildings are two of five on the corner that were rowhouses built in 1896. The two buildings housed Cobalt, a gay bar that operated for 18 years until its closing in 2019.
