  1. On a blue rectangle arced at top and bottom with a ⅛ inch (.32 cm) golden orange border, 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 2 inches (5.08 cm) in width overall, a golden orange vol superimposed by a white quarrel.
  2. Attached above the insignia is a blue arced tab inscribed “AIRBORNE” in white letters.
  • COMBAT SERVICE IDENTIFICATION BADGE: A silver color metal and enamel device 2 inches (5.08 cm) in height consisting of a design similar to the shoulder sleeve insignia.

  • A silver color metal and enamel device 1⅛ inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a blue cinquefoil couped in base bearing three overlapping golden orange bars enclosing a blue equilateral triangle one point up and overall a quarrel point up, the feathers emitting two flashes pilewise all silver.

Symbolism

  1. The overlapping bars represent a three-runway complex on an airfield.
  2. The quarrel is symbolic of aircraft using these runways, while the two flashes allude to an Aviation unit’s capability to provide control approach, aircraft communications and control facilities.
  3. The blue represents the sky.
