60 Hudson Street, a full-block building located between Hudson, Thomas and Worth Streets and West Broadway in the Tribeca neighbood of Manhattan, New York City. It was built in 1928-30 and was designed by Ralph Walker of the firm of Voorhees, Gmelin and Walker as the headquarters of the Western Union Company and contained offices, classrooms for messengers, an auditorium, cafeteria, shops and equipment rooms. The design of the building shows the influence of the German Expressionist movement, and the exterior brick moves from darker shades to lighter ones as it rises, passing through 19 different colors. Both the interior and exterior of the building were designated NYC landmarks in 1991. (Sources: Guide to NYC Landmarks (4th ed.) and AIA Guide to NYC (4th ed.))
