Acacia aulacocarpa, the hickory wattle, is a common large shrub in open forests of 7th Brigade Park. Unlike many other Acacias it is not always killed by fire, but re-sprouts both epicormically and from root suckers. It seems to be quite long-lived compared to other Acacia species in 7th Brigade Park, with some individuals appearing quite healthy after 30 years of observation.
