Akuapem Mamfe (also: Akwapim Manfe or only Mamfe or in similar spellings) is a small town in the contemporary Akwapim North Municipal District of the Eastern Region of Ghana. The foundation of this town goes back on the 15th or 16th century, as Guang people (the La nation) began to settle into this area. The Mamfe-chiefs were its also, for instance, which co-founded with the "League of Abotakyi" in 1731 the Kingdom of Akuapem.
