English: The Alvarado House ("Casa de Alvarado") in the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is currently the Rust General Store. Located at 2720 San Diego Avenue, it is an adobe house built prior to 1830 as the home of Francisco Maria Alvarado and Tomasa Pico, who was the sister of California’s last Mexican governor. It originally had a thatched roof, earthen floors, and wood-barred windows. The house, which had deteriorated over a period when it was rented out, was reconstructed for the park.
