English: Ashoka Pillar, Gotihawa. The Gotihawa pillar does not have edicts. Being similar to the Lumbini pillar and the Nigali Sagar pillar, it is thought that it too was erected by Ashoka circa 249 BCE. [1] The pillar probably commemorated the birthplace of the Krakuchandda Buddha. Gotihawa is located 5km to the south-west of Taulihawa and 3km west of Kudan 27°30′38″N 83°01′48″E / 27.510421°N 83.030118°E / 27.510421; 83.030118. According to the Chinese pilgrim Fa Hsien this place was the city of the Krakuchchhanda Manushi Buddha.
