Believed provenance of this car:

"Exige owner Ian Ross took advantage of the excellent weather by bringing his Sigma special to the day. It’s badged as an Aston Martin having been built by Aston engineer Paul Jackman in the 1950s. The 2-litre, four-cylinder sidevalve Atom engine is said to have come from the DB1 that finished in 11th place at the 1949 Le Mans 24-hour. Other Aston parts have been used, but it also employs a BMW 326 chassis and a Triumph Gloria rear axle. The car spent many years in a German museum before being sold to someone who believed he was buying a DBR1." Source Adam Wilkins, Goodwood Road and Racing, 19 May 2014 accessed 10 August 2020
