English: This type of vernacular granary is also known as "hórreo of The Ancares" or " hórreo berciano "( for its presence in the neighboring Leonese region of El Bierzo). It is classified as "Asturian type" because, unlike the typical Galician hórreo, it has a square floor plan and wooden structure (except the support columns); the roof is almost straw thatched; sometimes it's made of slate.
