English: The Checker assembled prototypes / pre-production pilots for a U.S. military, multi-role, 14-ton liaison / reconnaissance car, now also known as a 14-ton jeep, designed by American Bantam and and built or re-assembled by Checker Motors in 1940/1941, featuring rectangular front fenders, protected headlights, and simplified side entry cutouts.
Sources differ how many Checker really made. At least one unit had four-wheel steering.
