Note: This grave of sculptor John Wormald Appleyard, plot no.12542, is in Beckett Street Cemetery, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, at the end of the Anglican walk, on the left.

This gravestone was probably created in Appleyard's stoneyard in Cookridge Street, Leeds, in 1878 for his sister-in-law Harriet Revill. The gravestone of John Peele Clapham (d.1861) in Burley in Wharfedale is of similar design and construction. See Category:Clapham family grave, Burley in Wharfedale. The inscription cut in this type of marble weathers better than the cheaper sandstone, but the expensive marble has to be cut thin and set into a very thick sandstone tablet for protection from breakage.
