English: This Alley is named João Barreto Bailote (Born 1913 - Died 1986) who was a modern expressionist artist who came from Albufeira. He was self taught and painted many scenes around the town of Albufeira. He is admired for his simplistic style of painting. In 1997 the Municipal Council of Albufeira granted him, posthumously, the Gold Medal of Merit.
