English: Belgrano is a neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The region was a stop in the road to the northern provinces of Argentina, with an intense traffic on "Camino Real" (current Av. Cabildo). The town received its name in 1857.
The "Belgrano Partido" remained as an independent partido (or department) within the Buenos Aires Province, until September 1887 when the province transferred it (along with the Belgrano Partido) to the city of Buenos Aires. – source: GCBA
