The Berchtesgaden Alps — a mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps mountain group of the Eastern Alps. The centre of the range lies in Germany, although much of the range extends into Austria. The highest summit is the Austrian Hochkönig, at 2941 m, although the German Watzmann (2713 m) is perhaps more well known.
