Medway is a unitary authority in North Kent. The Medway towns comprising of Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham and Rainham are cluster around the lower reaches of the River Medway which gave its name to the conurbation. In addition to the main towns the villages of Borstal, Cuxton, Halling and those of the Hoo peninsular= are included : Cliffe, Cliffe Woods, Hoo St Werburgh, High Halstow, Allhallows, St Maryś Hoo, Stoke and Grain.
