English: Aberdeen Railway ran from Aberdeen to Guthrie with a branch to Brechin and connections at Brechin to the Brechin & Edzell District Railway and the Forfar & Brechin Railway. The section of line from Brechin to Bridge of Dun is operated as the Caledonian Railway (Brechin) and the section from Bridge of Dun to Kinnaber Junction remains largely complete and available for use, with the exception of the north facing aspect of Kinnaber Junction (which allowed trains from Aberdeen to access the route to Brechin and vice versa). The south facing aspect (which allowed trains from Montrose to access the route to Brechin) remains unobstructed.
