English: 43002 is the first production High Speed Train power car built for British Rail in 1976. It was initially paired with 43003 as part of InterCity 125 train 253001 based at St Phillip's Marsh depot in Bristol. Privatisation saw it become the property of Angel Trains but was leased to Great Western Trains and then First Great Western. In 2016 it was restored to its original interCity livery to celebrate 40 years of the InterCity 125. It operated with Great Western Railway in these colours until 2019 when it was withdrawn and presented to the National Collection. In August 1984 it worked a special high speed run from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads during BBC's 'Top of the Pops' television programme and was named Top of the Pops itself. The nameplates were removed in 1998 and replaced by Techiquest which was the name of a science attraction. From 2008 it was nameless but in May 2016 it was named Sir Kenneth Grange (in honour of the designer of the High Speed Train) as part of its 40th anniversary celebrations.
