English: After WWII Tallinn had severe deficit of residential buildings. To solve this problem, USSR athorities decided to build Mustamäe, Õismäe and Lasnamäe. For transportation between new districts, USSR architects decided to connect them with high-speed tram. First segment between Seli quarter and Maakri street should be built to 1989. According to this plan, all of 1067mm trams should disappear from Tallinn to 2005. Construction of high-speed tram were not completed because of USSR collapse.
