English: Castles of Munster: Carrignacurra, Cork Built on a rock by the River Lee, this four storey late 16c tower was the chief seat of the O'Learys. In 1602 it was captured by O'Sullivan Beare, but was forfeited in 1641 and restored to the MacCarthys with the O'Learys as tenants. It was acquired by the Masters family in the 18c.
