Deutsch: Das ehemalige Hospiz am Jaffator (Rechov Hillel 25) des Palästinavereins der Katholiken Deutschlands (1895 fusioniert zum Deutschen Verein vom Heiligen Lande), 1885-1887 errichtet von Theodor Sandel. 1908 zog das Hospiz, betreut von Borromäerinnen, in größere Bauten am Dasmaskustor, wo es als Paulus-Haus noch heute sitzt. Die benachbarte Mädchen-Schule am Jaffator (1873 gegr.[Rechov Hillel 27]) des Vereins, 1890 bis 1907 geleitet vom Lazaristen-Pater Wilhelm Schmidt (1833–1908), übernahm das Alte Hospiz für den wachsender Schulbetrieb. 1948/1950 die Mädchenschule (Schmidt's Girls College) ebenfalls ins Paulus-Haus. Seit 1951 nutzt die Jerusalem Italian Jews Association (חברת יהודי איטליה לפעולה רוחנית) das Alte Hospiz und betreibt dort ihre Italienische Synagoge und das Umberto Nahon Museum of Italian Jewish Art (1983 eröffnet). Die 1951–1952 eingerichtete Italienische Synagoge, die geborgene Einrichtungsstücke der 1701-1719 erbauten und 1950 abgetragenen Synagoge in Conegliano birgt, ist aktiv und folgt dem italienischen Ritus.
English: The former Hospice at Jaffa Gate (Hospiz am Jaffator; Rechov Hillel 25) of the Palestine Association of Germany's Catholics (Palästinaverein der Katholiken Deutschlands; merged in the Deutscher Verein vom Heiligen Lande [German Association of the Holy Land] in 1895), built by Theodor Sandel 1885-1887. In 1908 the hospice, looked after by Sisters of Mercy of St. Borromeo moved to a bigger premise at Dasmascus Gate, now called St. Paul Hospice. The Girls School of the Borromean Sisters (Rehov Hillel 27) took over the former Old Hospice for its school. Since 1951 the Jerusalem Italian Jews Association (חברת יהודי איטליה לפעולה רוחנית) runs in the building its active Italian rite Italian Synagogue (ex Conegliano, b. 1701-1719, translocated 1951), and the Umberto Nahon Museum of Italian Jewish Art (opened in 1983).
