Jasper Tudor, Duke of Bedford, Earl of Pembroke (c.1431-1495), was the second son of Sir Owen Tudor of North Wales and Queen Catherine of Valois, the widow of King Henry V of England. He was thus a uterine half-brother to King Henry VI, who granted him a new augmented coat of arms in place of his paternal arms of Tudor. He was a leading architect of the successful accession to the throne in 1485 of his nephew King Henry VII of England (first monarch of the Tudor dynasty).
