English: Daikundi ( Pashto: دايکندي ولايت; Persian: دایکندی), sometimes spelled as Daykundi, Daykondi or Daikondi, is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan, with its capital being Nili. It is located in central Afghanistan, about 310 kilometres from Kabul, and falls into the traditionally ethnic Hazara region known as the Hazarajat. The population of the province is around 431,300, which is dominated by ethnic Hazaras although there are some other groups such as Pashtun and Baloch.
