English: Device to root out evil is a sculpture by US artist Dennis Oppenheim. It is a New England style church installed upside-down, first intended as public art for New York and originally named Church. Its name was changed at its installation at the 1997 Venice Biennale. It was then installed in a Vancouver, British Columbia park for the 2005 Vancouver Sculpture Biennale, later moved to the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, and is now at the Plaza de la Puerta de Santa Catalina in Palma, Mallorca.
