Category:Du Pont Model G Speedster
The DuPont Model G Speedster was a sports car derived from the DuPont Model G. It differed by a shorter wheelbase (125 in. instead of 136 in.), a Warner 4 speed gear, and a a chassis partially enclosed. Engine was the same Continental 12-K side-valve straight eight cylinder with a displacement of 321.8 c.i. (5.3 litre) and delivering 125 bhp. DuPont added an aluminum cover over the distributor, spark plugs and wiring for water and dust protection.
Most Model G Speedsters were bodied by Merrimac and Waterhouse. Available as 2 seaters at first, a 4 seater was soon also offered, and a special "Le Mans" model appeared in 1930 to commemorate he make's 1929 Le Mans debut.
