the Duncan Canal is a canal draining into Lake Pontchartrain that forms a substantial portion of the boundary between Jefferson and St. Charles Parishes. The Jefferson side is part of the city of Kenner and is protected by a floodwall; the St. Charles side is mostly undeveloped swamp.
