Eastern Furniture was a branch of the Eastern Light company which specialized on home furnishing. It was opened in a separate store at 618 Hamilton Street in May 1966. In April 1984, Eastern Furniture closed its doors at 618 Hamilton and consolidated into Eastern Light at 520 Hamilton. The property was taken over by Shoen's Furnitre nearly immediately in May 1994. Shoen's was a brief occupant, closing in June 1990.

618 Hamilton became vacant after Shoen's closure. The property, along with the 614 Hamilton Mall structure were both torn down in February 1995 to create a parking lot for about 40-50 spaces, along with landscaping. This provided access to the Hamilton Mall for retail customers, along with allowing unobstructed sunlight into Zion's reformed church, which the buildings had blocked since they were built in the early part of the 20th Century.
