English: The entrance courts of the Palace of Versailles comprise, in sequential order: (1) the forecourt (avant-cour), known as the Cour d'Honneur, or sometimes as the Cour des Ministres (Ministers' Court); (2) the Cour Royale (Royal Court); and (3) the Cour de Marbre (Marble Court). The Cour d'Honneur is separated from the Place d'Armes by the Grille d'Honneur, constructed during the reign of Louis XVIII. Since 2008 the Cour d'Honneur has been separated from the Cour Royale by a reconstruction of the Grille Royale (the original having been disassembled and melted down in 1793).
