Deutsch: Der Exerzierplatz im Zentrum von Pirmasens wurde 1758 von Landgraf IX. von Hessen-Darmstadt als Aufmarschplatz für die Soldaten seiner Garnison angelegt. In seiner Mitte befindet sich das Neue Rathaus, der Sitz der Stadtverwaltung. Die heutige Gestaltung des Platzes im Stile der Postmoderne stammt von Paolo Portoghesi.
English: The Exerzierplatz is a public square in the inner city of Pirmasens surrounding the town hall. It was build in 1758 under the rule of Louis IX, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt, for the exercise of his soldiers. Its present appearance was designed by Paolo Portoghesi.
