Faggoting in the context of hand knitting is a lace-knitting technique in which every row consists of lace stitches, and there are no simple all-knit or all-purl rows.
Note: the word, faggoting in the context of hand-knitting has no connection with derogatory American language. It derives from an embroidery term, first recorded in 1868. (Source: Merriam Webster)
