English: Film noir is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylish Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize moral ambiguity and sexual motivation. Hollywood's classic film noir period is generally regarded as stretching from the early 1940s to the late 1950s.
Español: El cine negro es un género cinematográfico que se desarrolló en Estados Unidos durante la década de 1940 y 1950. Se suele considerar como la primera película de este tipo a El halcón maltés, de John Huston, con Humphrey Bogart y Mary Astor, estrenada en 1941.
Türkçe: Kara film, öncelikle, kahramanlarını çürümüş ve itici algılanabilecek bir dünyanın içine yerleştiren Hollywood suç filmlerini tanımlamak için kullanılan bir sinema terimi. Hollywood'un klasik kara film dönemi, 1940'ların başından 1950'lerin sonuna kadar uzanır.
Français : film noir est un terme cinématographique décrivant un esprit plus qu'un style de film dramatique.Ce terme est apparus la première fois dans un article de Nino Franck dans le numéro 61, Août 1946, de "l'Ecran français" et est, semble-t-il, inspiré du titre de la collection "Série noire" de Marcel Duhamel, édition NRF (Nouvelle Revue Française). Ce style décrit le sentiment de malaise, d'angoisse qui avaient régné dans le cinéma US durant la second guerre mondiale. Il s'agit d'un cinéma rarement optimiste, c'est le règne de l'ombre et de la traversée des apparences, d'un réalisme noir plongé dans des atmosphères de cauchemar.
