Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron 3 (VQ-3) is an aviation unit of the United States Navy. History:
26 December 1963: established as the "TACAMO component" of Fleet Tactical Support Squadron 21 (VR-21);
1 January 1966: TACAMO component reassigned to Airborne Early Warning Squadron 1 (VW-1);
1 July 1968: TACAMO component of VW-1 redesignated VQ-3 "Shadows".
