Gérard Bélanger (1936–2019) was born in Montreal, Quebec. He is known for his sculptures and paintings. He moved to Inverness in 1974, where he initiated The Art Foundry of Inverness in 1987. He studied at the École Boule de Paris and did apprenticeships in the United States.
