English: George Hampden Lovett (Philadelphia, February 14, 1824 – New York City, January 28th, 1894), American medalist and engraver. His father, Robert Lovett, and his brothers, John D. Lovett and Robert Lovett were die sinkers. After learning the family trade and becoming a medalist, Lovett designed medals, badges, and coins for social clubs and numismatic, historical, and agricultural societies, American schools and colleges, including commemorative historical medals, numismatic series, and various political tokens. He executed medals commemorating the Centennial International Exhibition of 1876 in Philadelphia; the World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition, 1884-1885 in New Orleans; the North, Central & South American Exposition, 1885-1886, in New Orleans; the Piedmont Exposition, Atlanta, 1887; the American Exhibition, London, 1887; and the World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago, 1893, among others. Member of the American Numismatic Society.
