English: The Gillespies Beach Gold Dredge was a bucket dredge which operated from 1932 to 1945 at Gillespies Beach, South Westland, New Zealand. It was built on site, using local timber shaped with axe and saw. Its mechanism was brought by horse-drawn wagon down the Cook River flat and around Otorokua Point to the south. Its buckets, winches, and pumps were powered by electricity generated at the Fox Glacier hydroelectric power station, using water from Lake Gault. Only rusted parts remain today.
