English: The Gin House was the industrial center of Dick Jarrell's farm, completed in 1895. It housed a sawmill, grist mill, cotton gin, fanning mill, and a cotton bale press. A series of belts connected the equipment to a steam engine fueled by a wood-fed boiler.
The Jarrells' expanded services to the community as millers, contractors, and cotton ginners were representative of a statewide transition from a purely agricultural economy to a diversified agricultural and industrial-based economy.
