English: Gotthardbahn (German for "Gotthard railway") was the name of a private Swiss railway company which operated the railway line from Immensee (Küssnacht, canton of Schwyz) to Chiasso (canton of Ticino/Italian border). Nowadays this term usually does not refer to that company, but to the railway line itself. A part of the line will be superseded when the Gotthard Base Tunnel, currently under construction, opens.
