There are three inscribed plaques on this monument. They say: "In memory of John Turner, late of Beech Villa, Starbeck, born March 1st 1800, died March 2nd 1883. Also of Jane Turner his widow who died 15th March 1887 aged 73. Also of John Francis Turner his son, born June 24th 1840, died November 27th 1882. Also of Charles Skelton, Arthur, and Frederic George, who died in infancy, the beloved children of John Francis and Frances Sarah Turner. Also of Frances Sarah widow of John Francis Turner, born Nov 9th 1840, died April (6?) 1899. Also, Victor Reginald son of the above, born March 17th 1875, died July 1st 1904."
