In 1906, the Guiberson Building was built at the northwest corner of 1st Avenue South and Titus Street, Kent, Washington by realtor Charles Elmer Guiberson. Seattle architect Daniel Riggs Huntington was responsible for its design. Despite what the plaque on the building says, it was not the first brick building in Kent, that happened around 1890 but those buildings no longer stand. The Northern half of the building was built in 1909 of concrete blocks and both buildings were joined under a small tin cornice.
