This category shows images of the two new HOT lanes in each direction under construction in the median of Interstate 495 (Capital Beltway), Virginia, US. Officially called 495 Express Lanes by the Virginia DoT. The HOT lanes cover a 14-mile segment of I-495 from the Springfield Interchange to the Dulles Toll Road. The HOT lanes will have free access for HOV +3 vehicles, and other vehicles with lower occupancy will be required to pay a variable toll through the E-ZPass electronic tolling system.
