Halastó (Lit. Lake with fish) in Balatonföldvár. This is a fishpond. Established in 1927. Fish farming began in 1930. Main parts: a circa six hectares lake and a couple smaller pools/ponds,-along Tó Street,-for fish breeding. Part of the Keltatúra (lit. Celtic Tour) educational trail. Fishes: Carp, compote, busa, amur, and predatory fish species (pike (Esox lucius), catfish (Silurus glanis)) are being reared. Every autumn harvested and re-planted with young specimens at the end of winter early spring. Owned by Balaton Fish Farming Nonprofit Co. (Est. 1899). Flora around the lake: cane, rush trees (Salix alba var. tristis), poplars. The flora and the 'service canal' provides a peaceful place for many animals. Birds: Egretta alba or Casmerodius albus, Bataurus s. stellaris, Ciconia ciconia, Acrocephalus schoennobaenus, Acrocephalus scireapeus, Sylvia atricapilla, Pica peca, Erithaceus rubecola, Carduellis carduellis, Cuculus canorus, Turdus philomelos, Orilius orilius. Other fauna: Natrix tesselata, Lutra lutra, Vulpes vulpes, Bufo bufo, Rana ridibunda, Sympetrum vulgatum. Halastó. 1927-ben hozták létre. Nem horgásztó! A nagy tavon kívül a a Tó utca mentén kb. 200nm-es keltető/nevelő medencék találhatók. A Balatoni Halászati Zrt. a gazda. Ponty, compó, busa, amur, csuka, harcsa nevelése folyik a tóban, amit klasszikus módon ősszel lehalásznak, tél végén, illetve tavasszal fiatal példányokkal telepítik újra.
