English: Halifax, officially the Halifax Regional Municipality, is the capital of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. Formed by the 1996 amalgamation of all the municipalities within Halifax County, Halifax and Dartmouth are the largest population centres in Atlantic Canada and largest in Canada east of Quebec City. For the area formerly known as the City of Halifax (1749–1996), see Category:Halifax Peninsula and Category:Mainland Halifax.
