The Hanson Place Central United Methodist Church, a cathedral located on the corner of St. Felix Street (#144) in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City was built in 1929-31, replacing a previous church on the same site that stood from 1847-1927. Its architectural style has been called "Gothic restyled in modern dress ... that might be termed cubistic Art Moderne." (Source: AIA Guide to NYC (5th ed.)) The church is located in the Brooklyn Academy of Music Historic District.
