English: Hermes was one of the Olympian gods in Greek mythology. He was the god of commerce, thieves, travelers, borders and crossings. He also served as the messenger of the gods, possessing the power of flight and often represented with wings attached to his ankles or his helmet. In the earliest times he was represented as a herm, a pillar topped with a bust of Hermes.
