English: A himation was a type of clothing in ancient Greece. It was usually worn over a chiton, but was made of heavier drape and played the role of a cloak.
Italiano: L'himation (ἱμάτιον) era un capo di abbigliamento dell'antica Grecia, che veniva indossato sul chitone svolgendo il ruolo di un cappotto: quando era utilizzato da solo, svolgendo quindi le funzioni di chitone e di cappotto, era detto achiton.
