Français : Le Battelle Memorial Institute (BMI) est fondé aux États-Unis 1929, un site est ouvert à Genève en 1952, à Carouge, dans la campagne Spahlinger. La maison de maîtres du XVIIIe siècle est occupée par les chercheurs dès 1953, Des bâtiments sont construits en 1954 (bâtiment B, démoli en 1997), 1958 (C), 1960 (A), 1969 (D), et 1972 (F). En 2001 l’ensemble du terrain et des bâtiments sont vendus à l'État de Genève. Les locaux sont occupés plus tard par l’Université de Genève et la Haute École de gestion de Genève.
