English: James Barroll Washington was a descendant of President Washington. A West Pointer, he joined the Confederate Army and served as aide-de-camp to Gen. Joseph E. Johnston. After being captured during the Battle of Seven Pines, he posed for a photograph with George Armstrong Custer The Confederate Washingtons.
