Dating to 1877, this Second Empire-style house at 512 Wisconsin Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin, was built for John J. and Elizabeth G. Jones (see the Property Record online).

The house is clad in buff brick with a mansard roof, dormers with vaulted roofs, two-over-two double-hung arched windows, and decorative brackets, a cornice with paired brackets and dentils, replacement one-over-one windows, a large early twentieth-century wrap-around porch with square columns, arches, a cornice with dentils, decorative brackets, and a concrete base, a front door with decorative glass sidelights, a stone foundation, enclosed sunrooms on the side sections of the porch, and stone headers on the windows.

The house is a contributing structure in the Mansion Hill Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
