Ob das alte Edelgeschlecht des Ortes (Outo de Luterpach c. 1130) eine Eigenkapelle hatte, ist unbekannt. Die Stiftungsgeschichte ist auf einer Bildinschrift, die sich in der Kirche befindet, niedergeschrieben
